Clean Meat

Sj

Don't know if this has been a topic yet, but couldn't find it.

We kill tens of billions- yes billions- of animals annually worldwide for food. I'll admit I'm a meat eater. But I recently read about a new way to get past mass slaughterhouses, it's called Clean Meat, and it is essentially meat grown in a laboratory. It takes cells of certain parts of tissue and grows them outside of bodies. They've already tested it as ground beef and besides being a bit flavorless, it worked.

Once they are capable of growing and perfecting (shape, flavor, texture) a plethora of meat like chicken breast, steak, etc, would you consider making the switch and only eating clean meat, or do you feel that it is too unnatural and freaky?

Pros: more ethical, better for the environment, healthier meat

Cons: unnatural, don't know long term consequences (if any), still uses some animals in order to cultivate said cells

If you are vegetarian, would you start

eating meat if an animal didn't have to die for it? (Sorry not enough poll options)

And bonus!: would it be ok to eat taboo meats such as typical pet animals and humans since you don't need to kill them in order to grow and serve the meat? :)
