Why even interview me?!

So I'm looking for a different job and I got an interview at a certain place for a baker position and I was super excited cause i love baking and it was gonna pay pretty good. I went and the interview went great and I even shadowed a baker for a couple hours and everything just lined up perfectly and the guy even said he's been trying to file the position since November. I waited two days for a call back just to get a voicemail saying they went with a previous employee that just relocated. Like if that was even an option why did you interview me?! I wasted $8 in tolls for this opportunity and you've been waiting for two months! I was so excited for this and now I'm just sitting in my car crying on my lunch break asking why they even bothered. I'm so pissed.
