Kinda like someone but is it weird to hangout?

I sorta like one of my friends. We have a lot in common and it’s easy to talk to him and we became friends through a mutual friend in Nov of 2017. We both really like comedies and a long time ago he said we should watch them together because he has no one to watch them w either and I kinda want to take him up on that soon but it was a conversation from late Nov. and I’m not sure how to casually bring it up because I’m not sure if he was being fr or not and I also don’t want him to think of it as a date or anything weird ://
