Am I being selfish?

My husband and I have been married for 3 and a half years. We both wanted children and talked about it before we got married. Everyone that we know is pregnant and I get emotional about it. I want to be a mom and I just turned 30 this year and I feel like my clock is ticking even more. I don’t know how to talk to my husband about this. He says he still wants kids but idk if that’s true as every-time I bring up the subject he changes the topic or just says we will one day. Idk any help would be appreciated.

He’s your husband, make him talk about it! I’m 34 and told my boyfriend about year ago that I wanted a baby and because of my age it really had to happen sooner rather than later. I took a few more months and manyyyy more discussions about it, but he’s been on board since we started really trying in September. That’s the other thing I was worried about, it taking a long time or the worst happening... Conceiving is so much harder than anyone really knows, until you know. 
Just explain to him how you feel, don’t leave anything out. I saved links about the increased risks as women age in relation to pregnancy to show my boyfriend. After he read that, it helped him to understand my urgency and why we couldn’t really just put it off for another couple years. You’re only 30, you still have plenty of time, but I completely understand where you’re coming from. Don’t give up hope if he doesn’t hop on board the baby making train right away, just be persistent. I want a baby so bad I wasn’t going to give up easy! My baby fever is raging and there’s only one cure 😂

My husband was ready but scared and told me not to tell him when I was ovulating 😂😂 he wanted it to just *happen*. Sometimes they need a little push.

Okay people are saying you have heaps of time but to break the mould I say do not put it off any more. If you want 2-3 kids you do kind of need to start now. Unless you’re going to pop them out year after year and that’s stressful. My sister is 37 and has been trying to have a child for over two years and no luck. Lots of people have children later yes , but A LOT of people have a lot of trouble once they’re 35. How would you feel if you could only have one child and then not another? What if you did wait too long? It’s not unheard of for women to go through early menopause in their thirties (I work at a hospital and I have seen it more times that you would expect). 
I don’t blame people for waiting a long time and I don’t think being in mid to late 30’s or even 40’s is too old to have a baby. That’s not what I’m saying at all, I just think if you WANT to have kids and more than one then you need to seriously tell your husband you want to start trying. Because things happen and you don’t want to regret putting it off like my sister is.

How are you talking about it? Do you tell him you feel like the clock is ticking? Have you told him it’s important to you and you’re ready but feel like he dismisses the conversation? Have you asked if he’s scared?

my ex boss has her first child at 36, and the boss who covered her maternity leave had her first at 34. You have plenty of time if you're healthy but I'd sit down and discuss it with him. Tell him you're serious and just wanna know what his plans are
