First time Mom - childbirth class helpful?

My doctor said it was up to me. They have the option of doing one at the hospital or online. Trying to decide what to do.

I’m taking mine onsite because they also give a tour of l&d; unit. FTM too!

I loved doing our class. It was interesting and we got lots of tips I wouldn’t have thought of. I felt more empowered to create a birth plan because I knew what to expect. We took a tour on site and it eased my nerves. I also knew which rooms had tubs and which didn’t so I could request them when I ended up being induced.

I didn’t do mine. Even if I did it I feel mentally I still would have no idea what to do but physically my body knows. I’m just going with the flow on that one.

we took one in class and it actually had some good but a lot more on preparing for intervention, like here is an epidural needle... oi! we took one with a midwife and actually was like wow! I feel a ton better! so if you can find a class through a birthing center or a midwife more one on one not like the other we had like 20 couples and it was a bit cooky! and get the childbirth book by Ina May Gaskin!

Helps you feel better prepared like you got all the information you could and have done all the work. Helps with confidence too and you might also meet some cool people if you go onsite!
