Pregnant moms what’s your plan for new nursery?

I’m confused. Our son will be 22 months when the baby is born and I can’t see him being ready to leave his crib yet or giving the new baby the glider? We use these every night and if he wakes up we always sit and rock for a few minutes? Do you think I’ll use the glider in his room his whole childhood for book reading and sick nights? I get kinda sad at the thought of giving all this to the new baby when I don’t think he’ll be ready. But buying a new crib and glider also seems frivolous too! Help!!

My girl will be 19 months when this baby comes. Her current nursery has doors into our room so we are moving her out and the newborn will go in there. All that furniture will be staying too. We pretty much made a whole new nursery for our older daughter with a new crib that converts to a toddler bed. I just waited for it to go on sale because I don't think she'll be ready for a toddler bed anytime soon and I don't trust the used cribs I've been seeing. We got a second hand dresser, chest, and a regular wooden rocking chair. We only use the rocker for a few minutes before nap time and bedtime so it should be sufficient for now.
Another idea we had was to move our daughter's current crib into her new room until the newborn needs it. We plan to keep the baby in our room in a pack n play for at least 3 months so that would mean Alice could use it until at least 22 months. After that we could get a twin mattress on the floor. We decided against it just because she likes her crib and I like that she's confined and not running around on her own when she wakes up. Your baby will be a bit older so something like this may work for you.

My Oct girl sleeps so well, we don't want jeopardize her patterns. She will still have her nursery as it is until our June boy is around 6 months. He will stay in our room in a bedside crib as we did with our first. Only after this period when we know how good sleeper he is we will be able to decide what to do. Have both of them in one room or give up our guest room to create another child bedroom.

We have our 15 month old in a big girl bed now. She loves it ! She also hated the crib !! She co slept with us so I think it made the transition a little easier ! Good luck and congrats !

My daughter will be 20 months when our son arrives. She is still in her crib, and it’s the convertible kind, so when she’s close to 2 we’re going to transition her to the big girl bed & just skip the toddler bed all together. I’m also going to keep her glider in her room as well. It’s the wrong color for our sons room, plus we still use it if she wakes up in the middle of the night. My mom is giving me the crib she has at her house for the new baby, (she got one for when she babysits, but our daughter won’t sleep anywhere but at home in her crib or in the car). And we’ll be getting little man a new (or possibly used if I can find a good one) glider. He also needs a dresser but I’m having trouble finding one that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. Putting together the nursery is my favorite part of being pregnant, but this time around we realized we don’t need to buy all new and expensive stuff, we’re taking as many hand me downs and thrift store finds as we can get.

I am buying a new crib for the new baby . I never planned on reusing my sons for a new baby. I bought it for him and him only since it’s convertible I’m just going to convert it to his needs until it’s a full size bed then he’s gonna have a headboard and foot board already.

Their rooms are RIGHT next to each other. We have been rocking, reading, and even middle of the night rocking in there and surprisingly hasn’t seemed to be an issue at all. However, I had brought the glider in our master the first few months, so I’m not sure what’s going to happen. I don’t want to buy another but not sure what else to do!

My son will be 16months when baby2 arrives in a few weeks. We had the spare room renovated fully and turned it into a big bedroom for my son and moved him in over Christmas. He loves it and we've had it entirely babyproofed so he can crawl and play safely, whilst I feed baby2 in the corner chair. We've put the newborns cot in our room and once he/she is sleeping through the night we'll put it in my son's bedroom as it's plenty big enough for 2.

I’m planning on keeping my sons nursery for himself and new baby will be in our room for the first few months. I just found out I’m pregnant and not sure what the gender of baby #2 is yet but if it’s a boy I want the boys to share a room while they are young, and if it’s a girl then I will make a nursery for her to have for herself.
