Taxes (Who should claim my daughter)

Okay, my baby daddy and I aren’t together...he wants to make it work... but he recently brought up taxes and what I’m going to do with our daughter. I told him I was claiming her because I have her most of the time and I take care of her. He thinks it’s unfair because he’s been working and I haven’t. ( He does give me money but I ALWAYS have to ask him for it (give about 150-250 a month) and he does see her, he lives an hour away..i have been staying with him every here now and then because he’s been wanting to make it work but I am not living with him) but idk i think i should claim her. Opinions???
