Leaving home

Hey guys, I'm turning 18 pretty soon and I want to leave home. At first I wanted to wait until after graduation from high school to leave but I'm worried that pretty soon I'm going to have to leave soon after I turn 18. I already have a pretty good safety net because I've been working a lot, and I would most likely move in with a friend who owns her own place or try to find a friend whose parent would let me live with them for a little while. I guess what I'm trying to ask is for advice. Have any of you left home young and what do you recommend for leaving home?
