TTC with Irregular Periods Help

I’m wondering if anyone who has experienced TTC with irregular periods and gotten pregnant could give me any advice on what you did? Did you try tracking ovulation, and how? Currently my husband and I are just BD every two to three days to try and catch when I may be ovulating, but I’m on cycle day 37 right now and I just wish I could get my period so we could “reset”. I feel like this late in my cycle I couldn’t possibly be ovulating, but maybe I’m wrong. Any thoughts or info or advice is appreciated!
