If you used laughing gas during labor, did you find it helped with pain? Please explain your experiences :)

My plan is a home water birth, but I am considering the option of laughing gas. I have the choice to water birth at my midwife clinic with aid of laughing gas. I’m just wondering if others found it worth it? How much does it help? Please tell me your experiences with laughing gas, thank you! Ftm, 33 weeks tomorrow 💜.

It didn’t do anything for me. Just helped me focus on my breathing more than anything

My sister used it. She said it was helpful. It wasn’t an option for me four years ago, but I sure do like it at the dentist! It just removes you from caring about pain.

I used it and it helped for a bit to take the edge off and also to help you breath deeper and focus on the contractions

It’s great while you’re breathing it, but the second you stop,  the pain relief stops

You can do it mama!! I had my first baby in August with no pain relief. Always remember to just breathe & relax

i had an epidural with my first child, in 08, i was not expecting how painful labor would be... im hoping this time i can go without the epidural, and laughing gas is in my list of possibilities, just to get through the contractions.

I’m in Canada and it’s a safe option offered at hospitals or midwiferies. It’s supposed to help with pain and yes, I’ve heard it can give you the giggles as a result. But I was hoping to find more in depth experiences or stories. I don’t know much more about it.

I didn't know it was a option?  I will love to Laugh during Labor with having to push 😵😵😵😵 I don't think the epidural is enough
