Fwb fallout

I'm 18, and I was in a fwb relationship with a close guy friend of mine for a semester. It started last August when he came over to my place one day. We both agreed to keep it going and were fairly happy about it. We kept it very low key so at school we'd barely talk. Everything was fine and it went on for a while until there was this one time when he started leaving me off. We talked it out and everything went back to normal until New Year's eve. He was being cold again and I was impatient so I went off at him over text. We both apologized to each other but we haven't talked since new year.

I really do care about him and genuinely like him as a friend. I miss talking to him so much but I'm too scared to even have another talk with him again. Right now we just ignore each other both irl and over text. I miss him and I don't want to graduate like this :( any advice?
