Acceptable age for pregnancy?

Hi everyone. So, I’m 19 and pregnant with my first baby, a little boy 💙 the dad and I have been together for 5 years and have a beautiful relationship. Because of my age, I’ve had some people respond to my pregnancy in weird ways. And others be completely okay with it. I’ve also been told “it’s a different time now” as if it’s socially acceptable now and didn’t used to be. What are your thoughts on age and “teenage” pregnancy.. is it different since I’m barely a teenager anymore?

My opinion doesn’t matter. You’re already pregnant. You’re in a committed relationship. If you’re happy and able to provide for your child, that’s all that matters, regardless of what any one person may or may not think.

I had my firstborn 3 days after my 18th birthday. I still graduated on time thanks to night school. As long as you’re mature enough to take care of yourself and baby, there’s no problem.

I think age is far less important than ability to provide for/take care of kids. I don’t care if you’re 18 or 35- if you don’t have an income, a steady home, and insurance- you’re not ready for kids. If at 19 you’re stable in a relationship and can provide what the child needs, then you’re better off than some much older people.

I don’t see a problem with it , as long ss your in a stable relashionship and able to take care of and provide for the baby, I always wanted kids younger so I wasn’t older having them but that’s just me . I am currently 23 pregnant with my first but my fiancé is 19 and will be 20 when the baby is born . Just a month into 20:) i don’t see a problem like I said as long as your ready!

me tooo!!💕 my SO and I have been together 5 years as well im 19 and he's 20. Our baby wasn't planned but the more I talk to people in my similar situation the more I realize it's fine. Of course I've had people tell me that I'm making a "mistake" or Fing up my life but I obviously don't need those people in my life.  I hope everything works out great for you and don't listen to negative Nancys.

I'm all for having kids young because then you're still young when they're growing & you'll be wayyy more active. The only reason I'm in a little disagreement with it is because you're young, you haven't experienced life enough & with a child you're going to miss out on a lot of your younger years that you could've gotten out before you had your child. But if you feel like you're ready for a kid, go for it, it doesn't effect me in any way.

19 I think is actually a good age. you're young and can keep up with your kids better. I was pregnant at 16 baby girl born at 17. could've waited but don't regret it. I'm 20 now and will have baby boy in July after I turn 21. you're stable and people are never happy. even with themselves.

Thanks you everyone! I feel totally confident with myself and my pregnancy, I may not have felt ready at the time that I found out but I feel as though I am now. I was feeling not myself and lost in my life before I found out about my little boy but I’ve had time to collect my thoughts and plans and get ready and I feel like he has helped me get myself together. A little blessing 💙
