Advice?

So I’m 190lbs and 5’4. I am starting the weight loss process. I am going to the gym every morning around 930 and doing cardio for about 45 minutes.. I am diabetic so I am eating roughly 4-6 meals a day. I’m following the glycemic index on what to eat. My boyfriend is also on this journey with me and he has a personal trainer whose helping us with food and meal plans. But is there any advice or anything you can give me to help? All is appreciated.
