Like Jennifer said, folic acid is synthetic folate, most peoples bodies can process folic acid just fine but a small percentage cannot, those people HAVE to take folate instead, for the rest either works just fine.

Folic acid is the synthetic version of folate, from what I have read folate is more recognizable to our bodies.
