Can an IUD help regulate your period?

I think it makes it stop after a while or makes you bleed for longer periods, the pill regulates it as you can control when you get it but you have to remember to take it. I don't have an iud but I'm thinking of getting it, I'm still unsure about it.

It depends what IUD you get. Copper ones tend to make periods heavier while hormonal ones (like the mirena) can make them a lot lighter, or make your period stop altogether. I have the mirena and I haven’t had a real period in like 7 months. I spot every now and then, but it’s a lot better than my irregular periods I used to have. It’s different for everybody, but I do recommend it :)

Soph is right! The pill regulates, IUDs usually either completely stop periods or cause them to be a bit heavier.
