Would you rather pay more in taxes, but less overall, and have your taxes fund medical insurance, and tuition free university?

I know people who are so against a socialist government that they would rather pay MORE overall between taxes, insurance, tuition, etc., than pay LESS overall but more in taxes than they currently pay.

I do support a Bernie Sanders style government with Medicaid for all and tuition free universities but with that aside, I want to pay the least amount while receiving the most of course. Money is money and if I can still receive quality care and education, I’m happy. How do you stand?

**this is not based on any actual tax plan/bracket, entirely theoretical so don’t get all “I pay blah blah blah and Bernie wanted me to pay way more than I currently do including insurance” because that’s not necessary**
