My husband is an only child. He and his mother have a strained relationship. He blames it on her working all the time when he was younger, not paying him attention and sending him to his grandparents at the age of 10 until he graduated high school. His father has never been in his life but he knows and has met him. We have both tried to connect with my MIL over the years and now we have a 7 month old, her only grandchild. She wanted us to have a girl and was disappointed when we had a boy. I reached out to her when we moved closer to her but now we are moving again and I tried again but she makes up excuses to not come visit. My husband used to be SUPER

selfish and I started to see where he got it from. It feels like she doesn't want anything to do with our child or her child. Should I speak to her about it or just cut her out of our lives?
