Is it worth it to splurge on a stroller?

Question

When I bought a stroller for my first born, I looked at budget, durability and brand, and luckily picked up a Graco click connect for CAD$200 + tax on sale. I have been satisfied with the stroller. My one complaint would be that I wish it were lighter.
That being said, since then I have been seeing $1000+ strollers in use by a majority of the families that I see when I am at the mall. Is it actually worth it to splurge on a high-end stroller? Please do share your thoughts.

I think a lot of it depends on where you live and how often you use it. We splurged for an uppababy vista and I'm super happy with it, plus, it expands up to 3 kids, so I'll never have to buy another one.

I think so. I didn’t at first and just got a cheaper one and I HATED it. You don’t have to spend tons! Just do research, go to buy buy Baby and test them out...... how heavy, how well it folds, storage space, seat positions.

Personally, I don’t think it’s worth it. The kids end up having accidents, spilling things, and getting it dirty. There are many lower costing strollers that are just as nice and reliable as the $1000+ ones. To me it’s like a way of flaunting your money without saying it out loud.

In my opinion it’s worth it to spend a little more money on a stroller, but it’s not necessary to spend $1000+. We have the Nuna Mixx2, which retails for around $550 and I feel it was 100% worth it. I plan on keeping this stroller for my next baby as well, so it actually saves money to buy a good stroller that lasts longer. Many of the strollers that are $1000+ have a lot of great features (better wheels, bigger basket, nicer handlebar, reversible seat, etc), but they also have a lot of unnecessary, luxurious features to drive up the cost.

We got a Britax B-agile travel system with our first 5 years ago and the stroller is still in perfect condition. It is also very light weight and has a one handed folding feature. I would definitely say it was worth the cost. Also, I've had a few pieces go missing over the years, the adapters for the car seat and my dog chewed up a strap and Britax has replaced both for free.

I REALLY want the ergobaby 180 reversible stroller. It’s lightweight too. It’s $400 though ugh way out of our budget. They’ve been doing giveaways and I’m praying I get to win one 🙏

So after three kids and trying out multiple brands of strollers, now that we’re expecting number 4, I know that I’m going with one of the more expensive brands. They are expensive for a reason. Some of them are able to be configured in many ways which in turn allows you to utilize it in many different ways. There’s also something to be said about the way they steer, push and how they hold up over the years. I’d say do some research or join a group that knows all about strollers. You will be amazed at how much there is to learn.

I think it’s worth it. After being a nanny for so many years and using tons of different strollers I realized the push of the higher ends stroller is a lot better. You don’t have to spend 1000+ to get a good one. There are many options in the 600+ range. We ended up going with a bugaboo buffalo because we live in MN and it’s an all terrain stroller that’s awesome in the snow and also at our cabin with gravel roads.

I got the city mini GT on sale for $400. It's an awesome stroller and worth every penny. Ii do a lot of walking with it and use it when we go shopping and to the park. Depends how much you plan to use it but you don't need to spend $1000 to get a great stroller!
