Getting a gift for person throwing you a baby shower?

Hey guys! 
My baby shower is next weekend and I thought I heard somewhere to have a gifts for the people that throw you the shower. 
Has anyone else heard this? This is my first baby so I’m not sure of this part of baby shower etiquette. 
Also, if they do get gifts-what kind of gift should I get them?? 
Any help/info is appreciated!!

Shower hostess gifts are totally a thing.  Get them something even if it's small.  What you get for them should probably depend on the time & money they invested, your budget, your relationship to them, & their personality.  A beautiful scented candle is a good standby.

My step mom threw my first shower earlier this month and I got her a set of Alex and Ani bracelets. A good friend of mine is throwing another shower for me in a couple weeks and I plan on getting her something as well, I’m just not sure yet. It meant a lot to me that she offered to throw my shower so I want to show my appreciation. 
I’m having 2 showers because my dad and step mom live in upstate New York so I had a family shower there. I live in Florida and this one will be fiends.

we made a homemade sugar scrub for my MIL and 2 SILs that threw my shower. with sugar, coconut oil, lavender essential oil and body wash. it was a great hit!

My sister in law loves Ulta and Sephora so I got her a card and a gift card to Sephora the week after she threw my baby shower.

An appreciation gift is definitely a nice gesture! My sister threw mine and she is obsessed with Bath & Body Works bath bombs and candles and stuff (I am such a tomboy, I don't understand all the smelly stuff...) so I was going to get her a few of those, but when I went in I had literally no idea. NO IDEA. So I got her a gift card to there instead. Yes, I know they say gift cards are tacky... But I think it's better than me buying who the hell knows what. She loved it! Other ideas are mani/pedi, massage, bottle of wine, Edible Arrangement, fancy chocolate.

I think personalized jewelry would be nice, or flowers and a gift card to their favorite place, or even just take them out to a nice lunch or dinner

I’m not exactly sure from experience but I would think it would be nice to show your appreciation and that your thankful. If it’s a woman throwing in nothing beats a pedi. Maybe you guys can go together and it be your treat :) also they say pedicures put you into labor with the pressure points. 👍🏼
