TTC after a miscarriage

I am curious of others opinions on the topic of waiting a cycle before TTC after a miscarriage.

I had a miscarriage at the end of Sept 2017 & long story short I didn’t ovulate again until 12/31 (using LH strips) & we got pregnant right away. So I did not wait to have a menstrual period. We had another miscarriage 1/18/2018 about 4 weeks in. I technically have not had a period since 07/10/2017, just bleeding from the 2 miscarriages. My OB says there is no benefit in waiting to have a period other than dating the pregnancy..which I’m not worried about since I’m tracking ovulation.

I don’t want to wait for a period, I would rather just try a 3rd time when I ovulate again sometime in February but curious on thoughts?
