Spotting on the pill

So I just recently started taking birth control pills after not taking them for about 3-4 years. I’m in the middle of my first month of it and I started spotting. Yesterday it was just spotting but today it’s spotting just a little bit plus some light cramps. The cramps aren’t uncomfortable or hurt but I can tell they are there. Has anyone experienced this before?
