I feel horrible

I've been dating my boyfriend for almost 4 months now, and I really do love him, but I'm having a problem with our sex. Years ago before we started dating and were just friends, the sex would be aggressive, and now he is all about the whole making love thing. It's not bad, but it's not mind blowing either. How do I get him to do that again? It's normally easy to talk about my sexual preferences with him, but I feel like this would bother him. Please help.
