UPDATE: What is a “Gentle Cesarean” ?!?

What is a “Gentle Cesarean” compared to a normal Cesarean l? #FTM
UPDATE: I am not a high risk and a vaginal birth is what I’m hoping for BUT if something is to happen and a C-Section is what I need I’d like to be more informed about my options.

You can probably get a better answer on google but it's to make a csection feel more like a birth then a surgical procedure-  no drape so you can see the delivery, delayed cord clamping, baby straight to chest after delivery etc.

that depends on the doctor. first: to be clear, any c section is riskier to a healthy mom and baby than a vaginal delivery, and barring severe health concerns or deformities vaginal is safer. if you MUST. have a c section, the doctor can remove baby from the incision more slowly, to try and replicate exiting the womb, they can delay clamping of the cord and give baby to you for immediate skin to skin rather than taking them off and suctioning them and such.

If you need an emergency c section a "gentle" section won't be an option. If you have a scheduled section then what typically happens is they will use a clear drape or lower the drape entirely so you can see your baby delivered. If baby is ok they'll do a delayed cord clamp and allow immediate skin to skin and nursing as soon as the cord is clamped.

I’ve seen a couple videos on them and there’s no curtain and in one the mom helped baby out
