Any other 25+ y/o women dealing with insane acne? If you have it under control, please help!!!

I have it under control now, but it was pretty bad for the past year. Mine was cystic acne on my forehead brought on from wearing my sunglasses and greasy sunscreen at the lake- got a nasty breakout right after I got home that would not clear up fully.. one would heal and two more would pop up and last for weeks before the cycle repeated! 
I went through a lot of different products, cleansers, exfoliating techniques, masques, moisturizers, and so forth before I found a combo that helped... currently break out free but waiting on the dark spots to fade from old breakouts...
I use the following;
Sheamoisture African black soap bar to cleanse face and clear off makeup
Follow with toner, alcohol free witch hazel - such as Thayers brand
Scent free, oil free moisturizer such as Lubriderm sensitive skin scent free formula, it’s technically a body/hand lotion, but it is so gentle and not heavy that it is fine for face use.
I don’t exfoliate more than once a week now, I think I was over doing it, and it was drying my skin out and aggravating it further. I’m not really using any masques either, the Aztec clay mask is pretty drying, and I liked it while I had active breakouts to dry them out, but I don’t feel like it would do my skin any good now. 
Reference - my skin type is mostly dry, a little oily around the nose..

Yes 😩 My dermatologists says it’s like a hormone imbalance so we’ve upped my dosage of spironolactone to 100mg a day. But I started breaking out around 22 and I’ll be 26 in June.. soooo fingers crossed something happens soon 🤞🏼 would help if I could also stop picking at my face but I’ve had that problem since I was a kid

I’m 24 and have been dealing with severe cystic acne since I was 11. Although my skin isn’t anything like it was when I was a preteen/teen I still break out. My skin goes through phases, I’ve gone up to a year with exceptionally clear skin and then I have a terrible, full faced break out that takes months to clear up. I use a product called Exposed skincare to wash twice a day and it’s really helped from an external POV. Lots of water seems to help too but once I start working again and getting back on benefits I’m asking my doctor for a dermatologist referral for medication. I know it’s not my diet since I have tried and tested eliminating everything I could think of. It may be a diet thing for you though, so if you haven’t experimented yet id say try that. I feel your pain and your embarrassment, you’re not alone!

The only thing that cleared up my acne completely was Accutane (but it's a serious hardcore medicine)

I have had it all my life. Tried a prescription from a dermatologist but it made my brain swell. I ended up taking this advice and only washing my face once a day with a normal face cleanser (not scrubby, not “for acne”) as well as cutting sugar with the keto diet. It helps but my acne is from my dad so I’ll probably never be clear

I was on Accutane. It wore off at 14 years and my acne came back. I swear by Rose water and Rose oil. Also, no fried foods or pop. My skin has been acne free since I made those changes.
