I’m 27 and he’s 28. I’m also his first girlfriend. He’s the sweetest man I’ve ever met but he’s always been that person everyone vents to about their relationship and that made him never really care for having a girlfriend. I guess he thought women were something he couldn’t handle.

That all changed when we met through a mutual friend. A week later, we went on our first date and shortly after that he asked me to be his girlfriend. 7 months later, I’m almost convinced this is the best relationship I’ve ever been in. I know it’s pretty early but it’s so cool to mold this perfect boyfriend. I’m not going to lie the first month was a little rough (had to guide him on kissing, foreplay and even thrusting) but now this man has got it down beautifully.

Anyways, he wants me to meet his college friend in the summer for her wedding. She was pretty ecstatic when she heard about me and insisted on me coming to her wedding. She sounded pretty cool and I was overall excited to meet someone close to him.

But I made a huge mistake when she added me on fb and I started looking through her profile... There were SO many pictures of them together and she’s tagged him in pictures of herself doing certain things like peace signs and other weird shit (I guess because he’s half Asian..?). I thought it was a bit ridiculous since I have a close guy friend I’ve known for 15 years and I literally have like 10 pictures with him and I’m never obsessing over him on social media.

I spoke to my friend who introduced us (same guy friend I mentioned above) and I found out that this girl was someone he was head over heels in love for but she basically rejected him in the worst way ever two years ago. Apparently, there was some good amount of flirting to the point he flew out to see her and confessed how much he loved her and she was all “I’m dating someone, sorry.” But I guess they’re fine since they’re still friends...?

So this wedding is coming up and I feel pretty nervous about this whole thing. Watching too much telenovela as a child doesn’t help either. Is this normal or am I just overreacting? Has anyone ever had the same problem?

Just wanted to say thank you everyone for the support!

So I brought it up last night and I was expecting him to try to avoid the whole story but he ended up telling me the same thing he’s shared with his close friends (yay)! Sounds small, but it’s a bit of a relief for me since I’m used to dating guys who change their stories around to keep me from freaking out lol.

I’ll let you guys know how the wedding goes. Praying for no drunken love confession speeches, hahaha!
