contractions or Braxton hicks ?

how do I know the difference? and how do you time the contractions? I'm 37+3 and I was getting small baby ones all day but now they kinda hurt but can  tolerate them..

5-1-1 rule. 5 mins apart, lasting 1 min or more, for 1 hour

My doc says if you can’t talk through them they are real.

Your labor is starting!!! The contractions you can tolerate may last a few days before active labor begins, but you’re right there!!!! Good luck!

Braxton hicks are purely uncomfortable, they do not hurt. I get them all day/night and have been for weeks now. Real contractions will hurt, not just be uncomfortable or tight. Sometimes they feel like period cramps in the beginning:) Good luck!!
