Scary
I went to my sons pediatrician the 26th because my son looked like this.
We didn’t think it was normal. My mom thought maybe pink eye. My son was sick and wasn’t feeling himself a good since Monday January 22.
So we go to his pediatrician and they give him oral medicine and eye drops for pink eye and a cold.
Okay cool, we started the eye drops and oral. He’s obviously contagious so me and his father are the only ones who touch him.
Not even 24 hours later. My son way up and he looks like this.
Can’t open his eye. So we call his pediatrician and say wait an hour and see if it drains if it doesn’t go to the ER. So that’s what we did.
Headed to the ER and the doctors can’t even open his eye up.
My son got a cat scan to show he had a sinus infection and periorbital cellulitis. Which is an infection around the eye.
So we were transported to another hospital because the one we were at didn’t take pediatric patients.
We get to the hospital and people are asking how it happened. How long he’s had it. I told them it was over night.
So the hospital stay was 3 days. Get him on antibiotics and make sure his eye is good.
I’ll show the progression. You can see the mood change.
To think of we would have waited one more day to take him to the ER. He could have lost all vision in his eye.
My baby boy did so well. He’s fighting it off like a pro. I’m so proud of him. Getting poked with needles in his hands and feet. Being terrified of anyone who walked in the room. Including his own grandma he sees everyday.
I’m just so happy he’s back to his energetic self. I missed him.
I can’t tell you how much I cried. Seeing him in pain it breaks a mommas heart.
Glad to be home though.
Update:
He’s doing so much better, his eye isn’t as swollen anymore. It’s still red but it’s a lot better.
He has all his energy back and he’s running around and being playful like he was before.
I was so terrified that it would get worse. Everything is looking up though!
I can’t thank you guys enough for worrying about my little man.
You guys are so sweet and full of love. Thank you so much ❤️❤️
