Hijab

I've worn a hijab since I was a kid and I realized a while ago ive been wearing it for the wrong reasons. I only wore it for my parents, so they can love me and look to me as their perfect daughter. I know this is wrong, and that my imaan has been weak, so I wanted to stop wearing it in hopes that when/if I decide to wear it again, it will be for Allah, and Allah only. Is this wrong? And if I told my parents how I felt, would they hate me?
