IUD removed and a very late period

I got my last period on December 2nd and it lasted for 16 days (not normal for me). I had my IUD removed on December 28th because my doctor said that it had lost its effectiveness I had had the IUD for about 5.5 years. She told me to look out for a period to start taking my birth control pills. It’s been 44 days and I still haven’t gotten a period. *The first time we had sex after having it removed the condom broke. I took a Plan B the next morning. I don’t know if that would have anything to do with the lateness.

I have taken 3 pregnancy tests and they have all been negative.

I am wondering if anyone else has had this happen after an IUD removal? I can’t seem to find anything online and I don’t want to make a doctors appointment if it seems normal.

I am hoping that the IUD didn’t mess with my reproductive organs.
