Am I tripping???

Question

So my mother hates our name choice. 🙄

My fiancé and I took LITERALLY for-ever trying to pick a name and we really like it and the meanings! What do you all think?
Blossom (bc she’ll be a feb/march baby i.e. love/flowers blooming)
Isabelle (to match my name Myielle)
Rosemerrie (great grandmas name also still w the flowers)
I totally get that one day she’ll be an adult and if she doesn’t want ppl calling her Blossom she has two other middle names to choose from! Like damn, is it really that bad??

Thank you so much everyone for your feedback! Apparently my mom is not fond of it bc of the sitcom/cartoon references but I’m like “Blossom was super smart + it’s 2018 Mom & also Blossom was the fearless leader and big sister of the PPG girls” so I’m okay w the references lol. 
Also i know my child even now and she’s kinda shy but also a whole movement lmao so I just knoow the name is gonna fit her lol.

Because in all honesty, don’t saddle a human with that name!
When we name a baby, we’re really naming an adult, childhood is such a short time.
I’d suggest call her Blossom as a nickname instead.

This is why my hubby and I kept both our baby girls' names a secret until the day they were born. You're always going to have someone not like it and try to talk you out of it.

Not saying that you can't name your child whatever, because you can. I personally think about how they will be treated, there will be those that will think she was named after the blond Powerpuff Girls and others after Blossom Russo. Honestly the treatment could go negatively or posativly for her self-esteem depending on how she is raised, her personality, and surrounding circumstances. Really thought she's not the first and won't be the last so maybe just ask your mother why she is so against it while afferming her that this name is beautiful and one you love. My grandmother always called me by my middle name because she liked it better and could pronounce it but I didn't know that growing up I just thought it was our cute little thing. Basically communicating to comfort your mother but assuring her that the name will stay.

My sons father and I were very careful to pick a name that we knew those mean little kids on the playground would not make fun of. However, kids these days will find anything to tease another child for. I’m not a big fan of the name Blossom. Like the other ladies commenting, it reminds me of the Power Puff girls and it sounds like she is a hippie. Nothing wrong with hippies, I just feel that kids will be cruel. She might just have people call her by her middle names because she doesn’t like her first name and then when someone finds out her real first name, they’ll start teasing her.
 
BUT you are the mother. It is your choice.
We named our son Daylen and we love it. But now my stepfather says he doesn’t like it and is going to call him something else. He thinks kids will tease him and call him “Gay-Len”. 🙄🙄

I think it's a lovely name. When I hear "Blossom" I think of something beautiful. I also think you handled your mother appropriately. You were direct but respectful. The only thing I'd suggest is considering just 1 middle name so her name isn't so long. My niece has 2 last names & it's been a bit of a pain over the years on legal forms & such. Just a thought.. 
I'm shocked how rude some of you ladies are being to this expectant mother. She's posting about dealing with the criticism of her mother. You all just wanna add to her stress? She clearly states that's the baby's name, she's not changing it. So why are you throwing in your negative comments? 🤦🏻‍♀️ smh
