Newborn nappies

Sophi

I’m 30 weeks pregnant with my first and have started a pretty good AIO stash (little blooms, fuzzibuns and tots bots) that are all one size, but do I need newborn nappies? I’ve heard a lot of people saying one size nappies are too big for newborns but I don’t want to buy another 30 or so newborn nappies if my son won’t wear them for long. I plan on using disposable nappies for the first little while because I’m having my baby in hospital and my husband and I want to settle into life with a newborn before switching to cloth. Do you think I should just use disposables until he fits one size nappies or should I buy some newborn cloth nappies? Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks x

I couldn't use one size on my son until he was 3 months old. he was 8lbs at birth. so we used disposables until then. with baby 2 we are getting newborn cloth diapers so we can start asap. plus they are SO cute and small. I have 8 AIO'S so far 6 omaiki and 2 bumgenius. the omaiki fits 5-15 pounds and the bumgenius just says under 12 pounds. the rest I'm planing to try out Green Mountain diapers prefolds with covers (most affordable) and a few fitted. I would absolutely recommend you check out the omaiki website because they have amazing bundle deals for newborn and AIO. also they have a great fit and are super absorbent.

you're welcome. I'll admit I was anxious to cloth diaper at first but now my only regret was not starting sooner. the nice thing about prefolds and covers is you can reuse the covers so you can get a few of those and lots of prefolds with are soso cheap and that way you won't need to buy another 30 diapers.

When I used cloth with my first, we just waited out the first size. It really only takes about a month or so, and they go through them so fast at that stage. Trying to keep up with laundry is a headache!

Use the disposable until the aio diapers fit. There's a chance your baby might not even need the smaller size, so why not save yourself the money.
