10 weeks for first ob appointment?

I’m at 5 weeks and called to make my first appointment and was told that they do the first appointments at 10 weeks. I thought it was 8 weeks. What is your experience? Thank you!

8 to 12 weeks is the usual time frame. They could of been booked up fully and is why.

different doctors do things differently. mine have always been 8 but they can literally do whatever they want. there's one doctor in my area who makes you send him your previous medical records and then decides when he thinks you should be seen... whether you think it's important or not.

Every hospital is different. if they do an ultrasound with the first appointment then 10 weeks makes sense. That's when the baby starts looking like a baby. my hospital does the first appointment at 6 weeks but it's just paper work and blood tests

I got told between 8-10 weeks then scan at 12weeks

I’ll be 9w6d when my doc sees me for my first ultrasound they wouldn’t schedule me any sooner

My doctor isn't even doing blood tests to confirm pregnancy, ultrasound, NOTHING till second trimester
