Should a 10 year old be able to get her hair bleached and coloured?

I am the step mom. My husband and I have primary custody of her. Her mother only has weekend visitation and is planning on bleaching her hair and dyeing it purple (during the school term😣😣😣) but im not ok with it and my husband has no knowledge about hair stuff. I dont see why she cant just use hair chalk.

Fuck no. I'm in the same boat as a step mom but my husband is on board with my opinion. We think it's horrible and yet she did just that to our 11 year old daughter when she was around 9! I wasn't in the picture yet at that point but that pissed my husband off and when he told me about it and showed how lighter her hair is in a certain section from it 2 years later it really made me pissed too. I think it's wrong. Use hair chalk like you said or something that won't damage the hair.

does the school allow unnatural colored hair. i know many elementary schools are more strict on rules with appearance than middle and high schools. i wouldnt do it because bleach is so damaging to the hair and very easy to mess up if not done by a professional. does the child understand what can happen to her hair with bleach? i would explain to her the damage that could happen such as brittle hair, and hair breakage. if you have primary i would say no to it.

School probably wont let her have it. I think over the summer its fine but not during school

I think she should wait till she’s like 13 to play with dye... hair chalk or wax is good enough
