Coed Softball

Before I found out I was pregnant I joined 2 coed softball teams. I have been playing softball/baseball since I was 5 yrs old. I'm 34. This past year my team didn't play, so when the spots opened up on these 2 new teams I was eager to join. Well last week I found out I was pregnant. I'm 5 weeks and 4 days now. My husband is concerned and thinks I should quit. I on the other hand was starting to feel a bit sluggish, so these teams get me off the couch and force me to exercise twice a week. I'm being very cautious on the field, not sliding and letting certain ground balls pass me up, jogging instead of running and definitely not sliding. I understand my husbands concerns, but this activity is not new to me and I'm not ready to quit just yet. I'm defensively not ready to tell people I'm pregnant, which would be my reason for quoting. I'm very competitive and playing makes me feel health and happy. I have never been a gym person and Imo feeling and being healthy is also important to my growing baby. I have also told him in a few weeks I can switch positions on the field for less contact, take nights off when my body is telling me to and eventually when my body and/or Dr say enough is enough I will quit. Does anyone else play sports or has played sports/softball during early pregnancy? What was your experience? I will be meeting with my Dr and OBGYN next week and I plan to address this with them too. Thanks in advance for reading and offering any advice.
