Any luck getting baby to sleep alone?

My son will still only sleep if I’m with him! I breastfeed him on my bed laying down and try to sneak away when he falls asleep but within minutes he wakes up crying for me. He’s 6 months in 3 days. I’m really struggling because I need to start getting stuff done during nap time!!

My baby would hardly let me leave her side also.. I’m not sure if you use a nightlight but ever since I stopped using ours and left her to sleep in the dark she’s been letting me escape and sleeping longer stretches. Also I read that it takes at least 20-30 minutes for them to fall into a deeper sleep so I usually just wait that long before I try and make my escape.

Maybe try letting him sleep next to a shirt you wore ? so it smells like you?

My “baby” is 8 1/2 years old and still ends up in my bed 😩. I haven’t slept well in 9 years (including pregnancy).

They say to begin sleep training to put them down to fall asleep on their own while they're sleepy not knocked out because then they'll wake up and expect us there but if we're not there they'll train themselves. I'm not talking because I have the best experience because my son does the same thing to me and he'll be 6 months in 3 weeks.
