When to stop with prenatal vitamins 👩‍⚕️

When can one stop with the prenatal vitamins? Am 18w4d and pills have never been my favorites!!! Its a daily struggle. Do i have to continue with them or is baby now fine?

I'm 5 months postpardum and STILL taking them. Doctor said to take them until 1 year pp, or basically forever if I plan on getting pregnant before or soon after my first baby is 1 year, to keep prepping for the next one. Endless vitamins!

You’re supposed to take them all through pregnancy. They’re vitamins. Very beneficial and help support you and baby.

Just FYI to previous poster, not taking prenatal tablets and problems with teeth aren’t linked. Pregnancy in general is though! (whether taking prenatals or not) I went to the dentist just yesterday and she said the problems I’ve been having with my teeth are due to pregnancy hormones, I asked her if taking any additional vitamins would help (as i only take folic acid) and she said it wouldn’t help. I also had problems with my teeth with my first pregnancy and in both pregnancies i’ve takes folic acid at least 3 months prior to conception and until the 2nd trimester.
 
The general consensus (here in the uk at least) is to take them until 12 weeks/2nd trimester, where it’s ok to stop so long as you have a healthy balanced diet. 
Just check with your midwife/obgyn to be on safe side x

I would recommend gummies but the gummies have NO iron in them so you would need to eat more iron rich foods or take an iron supplement.

i’d still take them. They are good for your baby but it also benefits you. I know some women who didn’t take prenatals & they end up having problems with their teeth.

My doctor told me prenatals are pretty useless and just got me to take folic acid and iron separately but then again he is very wild/special  with his recommendations 😂 definitely have a chat with your ob/doctor!

Don’t stop taking them I even took them till 8 weeks after baby to help with sleep deprivation and vitamins I needed.

They have gummy prenatal vitamins if that would work better for you.
