Any cops pr relatives of cops on here? My son and I have a stupid question.

Question

I drove my son to school today and he asked where cops use the bathroom while they're out snooping around in their cruser. I assume they can stop anywhere to pee but I don't remember ever seeing anyone go into a gas station bathroom or anything. So I guess what I'm asking is if they can go anywhere or are they supposed to in specific places, assuming it's not a "I gotta go NOW" situation. Thanks.

They can go anywhere. As long as they weren't told to stear clear because of an ongoing investigation.
Like always with being a cop you have to be aware of your surroundings.

They have breaks and lunches, like everyone else, so they usually go then. Since they’re out and about, they just stop anywhere really. Usually they’ll stop in a gas station or a fast food place since it’s convenient. They might head back to their station if they can. 
A lot of gas stations offer discounts or free coffee to cops in uniform, too.
