Question

Successfully got their baby to sleep consistently in a bassinet or crib? If so, is it for naps, bedtime, both?
How did you do it?
How old is babe?

I have a three year old too so I am trying to get babe off of me so I can spend time with him too.... not to mention deal with my three year olds night time wakings.

My daughter is 2 months and I’ve made her sleep in a bassinet from day 1. It definitely wasn’t easy the first few weeks. She was up every hour or so at first because she hated being flat and alone in that (seemed like) huge bassinet. Now, she still won’t nap in there, but she sleeps pretty well in it at night. It’s still a struggle to get her to fall asleep at night, but once she finally stops fighting sleep, she’s pretty good. I have her sleep in a halo sleep sack swaddler and it seems to be working well. We still have nights where she’s up every 2-3 hours or so, but on good nights, she will sleep 6-8 hours.

He’s only been in his crib for bed time the last two weeks but here’s our little story. 
We bought two different bassinets and he HATED both. We think it’s the thin mattresses.  We then found out on top of the colic he had severe silent reflux so now he’s on medication for it.  We decided to try his crib for bedtime only (we cuddle for naps or he naps in his swing).  Our dr told us to put a wedge in his crib for the reflux so we did. 
Our routine :
10pm all lights out.  Only whispers. White noise on blast. 
10:15 swaddle, swaddle, swaddle
10:20 night feed
10:30 rock and walk around with him swaddled until his eyes close
Usually by 10:45-11pm his eyes close and we put him down in his crib. Sometimes he needs a pacifier but usually he’s all good.  The first week he would do 3 hours and then 3 hours but last night he slept for 6 hours and then after his morning feed he slept for an additional 2!

I set a routine for her since day 1 at home. At 9pm I shower her, breastfeed her by 9:30. Once she’s done breastfeeding which takes her about an hour between breast I burp her cheeks she her diaper and lay her down in her bassinet. I put white noise on and she falls asleep on her own. I did the same with my four year old when he was born. Its hard at first, especially in the first few weeks that they want to be breastfeeding constantly as they are cluster feeding. It gets better tough you just need to stick to one routine. The same routine goes with my son. I transitioned her to their her crib already and they share a room so by 10:30 they are both sound asleep and she sleeps through the night already. She will be 2 months on the 11th.

My baby would not stay asleep in her crib until 7-8 weeks  she’s 9 weeks now and sleeping 5-6 hour stretch at night followed by another 3- or so hour stretch 👏

I breastfeed so it was hard the 1st few weeks for me because she loves to be on my chest I just got lucky she loves her stomach it shuts her up everytime and I'll let her stay sleep on her stomach for a half hour and then turn her over and she stays asleep from her feeding at midnight all the way to 7am

Try and find a sleep sack/wearable blanket. The hospital I had my daughter at gave us wearable blanket that you put on your baby without having to worry about it coming undone or them grabbing it over their face.

Mine is five weeks I've had her in the play pen that has a bassinet on the top for the past three weeks. She lays in it at bed time and sleeps the night. I did have a co sleeper at first but I didn't want her to get used to sleeping next to me I wanted to make it easier when I put her in her crib in the next few months. She's doing good

My 2 month old sleeps 5 to 6 hours while she is laying on my belly and chest. She won’t sleep anywhere else. She is already spoiled but I can’t help it I love when she is cuddled up on me. It’s nice cause I know my baby is ok and I can sleep too.

She likes to be swaddled in a blanket and I can’t lay her in a bassinet or crib wrapped up in a blanket while we sleep.

Maybe try swaddling? I sometimes put my daughter in her rocker chair and turn the vibration on sometimes she fusses but eventually she goes to sleep. I also lay her in her bed on her belly for tummy time and she falls asleep everytime. I also have a 3yr old son so I understand your struggle. sometimes you have to let your little one cry it out for a little, as long as they're safe it's okay.
