Period cups??

I’ve just ordered my first period cup and while I like the idea of not having to worry about it for 12 hours and being environmentally sustainable, I’m still a bit concerned that it won’t be for me. Can I I get any tips or advice to ease my mind?

It definitely takes some practice to put it in the right way. You’ll want to feel it “open up” all the way and that’s how you’ll know it’s in right! I’ve used one for 2 years and would NEVER go back to tampons!!

There's definitely a learning curve, so don't give up right away! I had a lot of trouble at first - it took me maybe a full year to feel completely comfortable with it, but now I've been using one almost 10 years and love it. I would suggest using a liner or have back up with you in case of leaks the first couple months.

Just remember it’s a new process and it will take a cycle or two to get used to. Don’t let it scare you away if the first time is a little messy or whatever. Use back-up until you feel comfortable with it. And stay relaxed when emptying it (the more nervous and tense you are the harder it is).

It's awesome! At first I had a bit of trouble, it leaked a little bit, but with practice I was able to put it right, understanding my body better. :)
