Can I join the military if I have Scoliosis?

pleeeeaase!!! I need to be clear, i want to join the Air Force but i have that problem about 21° scoliosis (i dont remember exactly). I feel so bad because I really want to join😢

The air force will probably deny you as they tend to be the most strict but you could try another branch.

Unfortunately MEPS is very strict on it. You’ll never know unless you try. But like I said they are very very picky. They told me my shoulders weren’t even so they did x rays and things to see scoliosis I only have a 5degree curve. So I was wavered. There’s no way to avoid it. If it’s in file by any doctor they’ll know. You also do different tests and things to look at your spine and mobility. All you can do is discuss it with your local recruiter! Best of luck!!

go to recruiter and ask them. the policies change alot and they will know the most up to date regulations.

The air force is one of the more stricter branches, I had a Shipmate who tried to join but his eyes weren't good enough (dude didn't even wear glasses, they just weren't good enough for air force even with a waiver) it may be sketchy if you're able to but best of luck!

thats actually one of the last checks they do at MEPS before they ship you to basic. i dont think so, but you should ask to be 100%

I have it but when I joined it wasn't enough to disqualify me. they disqualify after a certain degree/amount
