Tea and pregnancy?

I just drank some tea then when i read the box, it said if you’re pregnant to ask a doctor before drinking it... why is that ?? I’m nervous now.

Some herbs that are used in herbal tea can cause miscarriage when taken in excess. It would be very rare to have complications due to one or even a couple cups of tea, but google the ingredients and be sure they are safe during pregnancy. Not many herbs teas are.

Lots of things will say that. Certain herbs shouldn't be consumed during pregnancy, but it would need to be a lot over a long period of time. But most medications and some food or other products will say that, basically so you can't sue them. So say you took... idk a benedryl... and the bottle said to talk to a doctor first... and you lost the baby, you cant sue them because they put the warning on the bottle. (benedryl is pregnancy safe. it was just the first medication I thought of)

Some ingredients in teas are not recommended in pregnancy so that’s probably why.

Certain herbals may not be tested in pregnant women, so there’s no way to tell if they’re safe. My echinacea tea had that warning. I limited it to two cups a day (one team bag steeped twice) when I was really sick.

Caffeine intake should be reduced whilst pregnant.... Time to buy decaff
