The rainbow bridge 🌈

My beautiful cat Humphrey flew over the rainbow bridge yesterday morning.

It was Monday night at approximately 7pm, me and my partner were out having a cigarette at the end of our road when we heard the usual jingle of the cat collar, he doesn’t normally stray as far as our track but we saw him across the road before he we knew it he shot across the road to come and greet us like he usual would. At that time a car was passing and unfortunately hit our baby, he scooted Off to the closest place he could get away. All we could here were his crying meows. My partner managed to get him out of this corner with extreme difficulty and I rushed him inside. At this time I knew it wasn’t good news, my poor baby boy couldn’t walk he was bleeding from I don’t know where and he was incontinent.

We rushed him to the emergency vets where they kept him over night as we expected. Unfortunately he wasn’t stable enough for an X-ray so we had no idea what his injuries were.

We collected him yesterday morning at approximately 8am to take him to our local vets.

I knew they would take care of him and love him as much as I do.

I got the dreaded phone call to tell me that he had completely shattered his Pelvis and there was absolutely nothing they could do.

We made the heartbreaking decision of having him put to sleep because it wasn’t fair for him to go through all the surgeries and not having a 100% chance of getting any better.

Myself, my partner and my mum rushed to the vets to say our goodbyes.

We made sure he had some tuna (his favourite) and lots comfort. I won’t go into too much detail about what happened next but I know that he was comfortable and pain free and that’s all that matters to me.

I can’t explain to you how much this cat meant to me, he wasn’t only just my cat he was my best friend and he really was one of a kind.

9 months wasn’t long enough having you Humphrey and I wish I had more memories with you but rip my little bogey.
