Feeding/burping scare

I'm a new mother...I'm trying to get the hang of taking care of a newborn being inexperienced. Today I had my first of what I'm sure will be many scares. My LO was on the breast and my flow was pretty fast. She was fussing while latched on when out of no where she projectile spit up threw her nose and mouth while laying down. I quickly sat her up and began to burp her. She appeared to lose her breath for a split second which scared the hell out of me. It was a traumatic experience for the both of us 😔..Any mothers have advice on feeding and burping? Seems like she spits up after every feeding, is this normal?
