Obese Baby?????

My Dr filled out this slip after my apt today, explaining the reasons for wanting me to have another ultrasound....

Normally, my Dr office does the dating scan early on, anatomy scan at 20 weeks, then growth scan at 36.... I just had an ultrasound at 30 weeks to check babies growth and she was measuring 2-3 weeks ahead at about 4.9lbs. I'm 32 weeks 4 days today and my Dr wants another ultrasound in 2 weeks (34 weeks) to check her growth again. My son measured ahead when I was pregnant with him as well.. but I don't remember them making this big of a fuss over it.. he was 8lbs when he was born at 38w1d. 
so I'm starting to get nervous that I'm going to end up with a 15lb baby 😂
And I know I'm on the higher end of the weight spectrum (196lbs) but I've only gained 17 lbs so far.. and that's after losing 1lb in the past 2 weeks.. so I doubt the "obesity" thing on the slip is about me... anyone else have this before and have an average sized baby? really hoping and praying I can make it to full term with her and have her naturally 😩

I think it is aimed at you, no offense. I’ve never heard of a fetus being called “obese”. Obese patients are higher risk. I was 194 at the start of my pregnancy, and they watched me like a hawk all throughout. All my papers said I was obese. Even though previously I was 354 pounds, so I definitely didn’t think I was anymore. It has to do with the BMI ratio or some BS.

Probably concerned with the baby having a high fat content. Unfortunately babies that are born with a high fat content tend to have heart problems from birth. just a safety thing

I weight 185 before pregnancy when I got pregnant they weren’t really nice about because of my weight. I’m 6 months and I’m 187. They’re “amazed” I haven’t gained that much. They told me when I’m close to my due date they would send me for a scan to see how much baby fat there was. I was told it wasn’t a bad thing but they just want to be prepared and know all the info on me and my baby
