Baby shower for 2nd baby?

Question

I think every baby should be celebrated. So why not have a second baby shower? I don't care what the gender is. And I thought of stuff I should've gotten the first time around but didn't.

I personally feel guilty making people buy gifts for me and my child again since I just had my son in mid 2016.. Every baby definitely should be celebrated but without the expectation of receiving gifts from others. I just don't think it's fair for me to want gifts from others hard earned money just because I decided to have another a baby  (regardless of the gender). However, if many years has passed between the pregnancies, then it should be fine.

I had a second shower only because my kids were 5.5 years apart. Despite me telling everyone I didn’t need one, my friends threw me nice small one, and my husband’s family did a small one also. We just made a small registry for basic stuff. Our parents got us bigger things.

I had one for both my boys because I wanted to celebrate each one..however, my dad said that since I was having another boy that he didn't want me to invite any women from his or my stepmom's families since they came to my 1st one..that really hurt my feelings because my youngest son isn't any less important being the 2nd boy..I made it clear that I didn't care about the gifts but I wanted to celebrate bringing another baby into the world..I hosted my 2nd son's baby shower with some help from my mom and I bought all the food..it really wasn't done to get gifts but to show that we wanted to celebrate having another son and he was just as important as our oldest son

there are many ways to celebrate the baby in a new life without asking people to give you gifts. and especially saying but I thought of things I should have put on their last time and didn't can come off as really ungrateful that people got you what you wanted and you're still not very happy with it. At most baby showers people pretty much just get clothes, so unless you want more newborn clothes, no.

Not sure yet if I will have one as it’s too early but my daughter is 3 and I didn’t want a shower before she was born at first place. We had one when she was a month old so everyone could see her, I had bought everything already so it was just cute things for her.

We aren't doing one this time around, but we are throwing my boyfriend a diaper party (Huggies and chuggies) since we didn't with the first (I had one free diapers for a year with the first). I think we're gonna do the gender reveal along with it too

I see no problem with it! We saved all of our daughters stuff so if we throw a baby shower we'd just have people bring diapers and come celebrate our baby together.

You could always do a ‘sip and see’ !!
That’s what we’re opting to do. Basically a couple month after the baby is born, have a party for everyone to meet them and hang out!

I had a baby shower for my son . But I only plan on having a sprinkle only if I am pregnant this time with a girl if I have another boy I’m not having anything because I won’t need anything.  (Still have like all my sons clothes and all the stuff we used with him)
