Can I have my hair dyed when pregnant?

I’ve read different things so I’m confused I think it’s fine but can someone tell me what they have been told..
Can I dye my hair when 5 weeks pregnant?

Yes, it’s totally fine. Hair dye these days are safe to use. I get my hair done all the time

Yes but no bleach. I have heard that the colours don’t come out the same as when you’re not pregnant though. I do mine with non toxic vegan dye to be extra safe but Im lucky my hairs green anyway so I can’t go wrong lol 😂

Since studies are so undecided on this, I’m going with foil highlights next week- I’ll be 10w 3d when I have them done. Foils don’t sit on your roots so it isn’t absorbed by the body. My stylist said it’s fine to dye it while pregnant but offered this option as an alternative since I’m a little frightened of it still! My comment is always that we worked way too hard for this baby for me to risk a “should be ok for baby” kind of thing.

I've been told/read that it's not safe to dye hair til second trimester. But the area needs to be well ventilated.  I personally wouldn't risk it in the first trimester.

Yes, you can but I'm a cosmetologist and I see a lot of the dye that would regularly be fine do weird stuff to the hair. I usually would mix my dye for my hair the same exact way time after time then I got pregnant (I didn't know) and then my hair turned yellow. The hormones during pregnancy can mess with the dye. There isn't a lot of studies on it so I personally didn't do it after I found out I was pregnant but I've done it on a lot of pregnant women who have perfectly healthy babies
