41 weeks I have the flu.

Allie

Has anyone experienced having a baby with the flu ? What are the rules ? Do you get to bond still but with a mask ? Do they just take the baby away ? What if the spouse is also sick can he be in the room with a suit and mask ? I don’t want my baby to be sick but I don’t want to not be able to breastfeed and him be all alone in the nursery. Won’t talk to my doc until tomorrow .. this is driving me nuts y’all

I heard that you need to definitely keep breastfeeding while your sick and that’s all I’ve seen for it

Yes yes yes I want to get on that and I know they’ll be feeding him formula in the nursery they did it with my daughter even when I asked them not to. The colostrum is like what I need him to have. My boobs are huge and leaked some already.. body literally knows what it needs to do.

Did you get tested for the flu or are you sick and assuming it’s flu? That would probably make a difference.

I wake up sneezing I go to sleep sneezing. Random smells? Sneeze fest .. It’s not the cute little sneezes either it’s like rough man sneezes snot dripping down to my tits need a shower type sneeze 😂 it’s not that bad all the time but more than not. I cant even remember the last time I was able to breathe out of both nostrils. Went to have my ears checked by a ear nose throat doc and he says “damn I’d love to scrape your sinuses” HUH? 😅 that’s nuts girl maybe you can get some meds and find some relief .. I stay coating Vick’s in my nose

One I am so sorry you’re going through this. Two do not take tamiflu it doesnt help get you over the flu, it apparently helps shorten the symptoms by a day. There is a bunch of problems with people taking it. I wouldSuggest you calling your midwife/on upping your fluid intake etc etc. if you are going to breastfeed your body will make antibodies to protect the baby so nurse on. And keep nursing.

Where I’m at, you can have them come back to you after a certain amount of time on tamiflu, but they may have to go to the NICU to be monitored and you probably will not be able to visit there with flu. Get the tamiflu asap. And I’m SO sorry you have the flu now: I just delivered my first baby Friday and can’t imagine doing it with the flu 😳😳😳

Pregnancy Medicaid doesn’t pay for tamiflu so I never got it. I went to the ER Thursday and I’ve been taking mucinex.

Are you on tamiflu yet? It’s 48 hours after treatment so maybe you’ll be treated before?
