when is it okay to let a baby taste food?

so I'm wondering what you ladies think the suitable age is for a baby to try different tastes. my baby is 6 weeks old and my mum told me to dip his dummy in the sauce of my beans to let him taste, I dont see the harm in a little taste but alot of people are totally against baby's trying anything until they are 6 months

Always double check things for HONEY. Absolutely no honey before the age of 1! Look up infant botulism if you aren't already familiar with it.
