Who thought they'd never want kids but then later changed theirs mind?

I was adamant that I would be childfree. I couldn't stand the world we live in and feared bringing another human into this world to try to survive. Then one day in my 33 years of age, I got up and wanted a baby. My husband was so surprised but elated. I wish I could say what changed my mind but I don't know. So beginning this month we are TTC. Anyone else?

I was the same way I didn't want children at all but got pregnant in my late 20s only to have a miscarriage which I was sad about but relieved at the same time. then when I hit 30 and my precious dog buddy died and then my grandma died soon after I began to think I do really want a family. not a big one or anything but maybe just one kid. see I have bipolar disorder and I would have to go off like most of my meds to carry a baby so that is going to be difficult for me but I thought it through and decided that I would want a child despite my condition. I also have pcos all my tests have come back normal so far concerning fertility just have one more to do. but today I just got two positive pregnancy tests. so I hope they aren't false positives again!! have had so many false positives it's crazy. sorry for the rant. just  really want a viable pregnancy just one that's all I'm asking for.

I'm with you guys... always been an animal person, have 9, work with animals, planning a farm/wildlife rehab... don't know what really happened but currently 32 and after my first 'son' (first dog w/SO after being on our own and living together) passed away last year and a few other things I decided the world is indeed messed up and the only thing I could do other than what I do for wildlife in my life time is to pass on our passions and beliefs to a generation... currently 1dpo, ttw.. scared outta my mind and never thought I'd feel this way..

I was the exact same way! I had horses and that was all I wanted in life. Being around kids drove me nuts.
Then one day the daughter of one of my friends started playing tag essentially with my big Friesian.... and he was not always the easiest animal to get along with.
He was in the paddock and the little girl started running down the fence line saying “Valour! Valour! Come here boy!” And I’ll be damned if Valour did not play along! He ran up and down the fence, following her and coming when she called. I looked at my friend and said “awwwww I want a little girl!” And it was like a switch flipped and suddenly I wanted children. My husband was thrilled.

Not me personally. But my sister in law (who I knew growing up) always said she NEVER wanted kids. She would say it Adamantly, like it wasn’t going up happen no matter what. She got pregnant at 21, she’s now 35 with 5 kids and wants one more (she just had her 5th three weeks ago 🙈)

I am the same way!!! I just woke up and felt so different so i gave it a couple of months before taking out bc to see if I changed my mind back,  and I know I want a baby, so we are trying!

Same here. I swore up and down my whole life that I never wanted kids. I’ve always been an animal person and kids never interested me at all. I met my husband when I was 33 and we fell in love and something changed. I went from not wanting kids, to starting to consider it, to full blown wanting a baby! We got married five months ago and just started TTC last month. I feel like I’m racing against the clock, because of my age. Hoping it happens for us sooner rather than later!!
