Why are chances higher before ovulation?

I noticed on the app it says I had a 33% chance of conceiving yesterday, but only 22% today which is the day I’m estimated to ovulate... why is it higher yesterday? Anyone know?

You have a short window after the egg is released when you ovulate (12-36hours) to have it fertilized so it’s best that you have sperm available/already waiting for the egg to drop. Sperm can apparently survive in good conditions 3-5days. So thats one reason why they say you’re chances is higher before you actually ovulate. Once the egg is released and is gone, your chance decreases
